Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga
Denver, Evergreen, Morrison
"As you sow, so shall you reap."
Pregnancy is wonderful time to practice yoga because of the many benefits of practice. The asanas (postures) increase strength and flexibility in the muscles and joints, and help combat fatigue. They tone and firm the uterus and other reproductive organs and calm the nervous system. They aid proper digestion, circulation and breathing. Additionally, the practice of pranayama (rhythmic control of the breath) and conscious relaxation are helpful techniques in childbirth and after.
The same asanas are practiced during pregnancy as normal, but with some modifications to ensure maximum space for the developing fetus. The asanas are simple and safe. And we have plenty of blankets, blocks, straps and bolsters to help you find freedom and comfort in the poses.
Diane practiced yoga through her pregnancies and has been teaching pregnant women for five years. She offers personal yoga instruction to pregnant students in regular classes and will offer yoga classes specifically for pregnant women when there is a demand for it. She can also address your needs through private and semi-private lessons.
Yoga practice during pregnancy creates radiant health for the expectant mother. Maintaining a mother's physical and mental well-being during pregnancy creates the fertile environment a fetus needs to develop.
