Serving Morrison, Conifer, and Evergreen Colorado
About once a month we delve deeply into a topic through a workshop. This is a great opportunity to learn more about a particular subject that interests you. The format allows time for questions and thorough practice. Occasionally, visiting Iyengar yoga teachers teach their specialties. Here are a few of the topics we’ve covered in past workshops: chanting, pelvic balancing, inversions, depression and anxiety, restoratives, detox and digestion, and opening the heart to name a few. Workshops are generally on Saturday mornings and are about two hours long. The cost is roughly $20-25.
The Yoga of Intention. Saturday, March 4, 2017, 10am-Noon. Discover the many benefits of a short morning yoga routine. In this workshop we will examine how we can use the power of intention to create new habits using cues, rewards, and rituals. Cues trigger the brain to take an action and rewards reinforce the action. Rituals infuse purpose with action. They act as a reminder of what you’ve determined is important and help you to stay connected to those values over time. Using these powerful tools we will sequence short doable practices to fit busy lifestyles. Sponsored by Iyengar Yoga Intermountain Yoga Association. Text Diane to register 303-669-8106.
Annual Yoga Retreat
Once or twice a year, we retreat to Joyful Journey Hot Springs near Salida, Colorado. Here students can get away from their routine responsibilities, relax and immerse themselves in yoga practice in the midst of the beautiful San Juan Mountains. This popular retreat is a refreshing way to enjoy nature and deepen your yoga practice. We stay in heated yurts (though standard hotel rooms are available) and often grill dinner and have a bonfire. As the title suggests we retreat from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and find the joy of yoga, pranayama, contemplation and meditation. Of course, there’s plenty of laughter and soaking under the skies in the geothermal pools, plus time for massage or sauna.
This year we have a special Spring Retreat on Friday, April 21-22, 2017. The retreat includes an overnight stay in heated yurts, two days of soaking in the hot springs, three yoga classes, breakfast and potluck dinner. Cost is $140 if paid by April 1. ($155)
